CICJ researcher Barbora Holá awarded Vidi grant

Dr. Barbora Holá, co-director of CICJ and Senior Researcher at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement was awarded a Vidi grant worth 800,000 euros for a project entitled ‘From the Past Back to the Future: Intergenerational legacies of mass atrocities’.

Mass atrocities committed during genocides, wars and state repressions have profound consequences on people who directly experience them and on generations to come. This project examines how legacies of mass atrocities transfer across generations, and what role transitional justice mechanisms, such as criminal trials and lustrations/vetting, play in such intergenerational transmission. The project will focus on Bosnia and Czechia.
